We'll call this "Day One."
If you were to poll the staff here at Aces Casino Entertainment (A.K.A. the top Orange county casino party company on the west coast) and ask them just how much fun everyone had in the month of July, you'd probably get a near-unanimous reply - "Wow, July was the best month EVER!"
I mean, who could argue with THAT? The company had record-setting event numbers in July, and in the process, worked with some of the most fun and exciting corporate clients and private event coordinators that we've had in quite some time. This year, the month of July was also selected as the month that would see the Aces Casino team invade Las Vegas for our annual Sin City employee appreciation party (Ed. Note: stories on that to come later, we promise), and, when the team returned from Glitter Gulch THIS year, they found a treasure trove of goodies, drinks and sandwiches in the Aces break room refrigerator, a discovery that immediately caused an impromptu in-house celebration.
At this point, it may be prudent to point out that, in the first paragraph of our blog post today concerning how much fun July was this year, we said, "NEAR-unanimous reply."
The one person that we forgot to poll in our quest for a unanimous verdict was the true owner of the company, who, unbeknownst to us, had stocked our fridge with food and drinks for an event that we were putting on FOR ANOTHER CLIENT that weekend, a client that was assured that the party goods would be safe and sound on our property, to keep a surprise party aspect of an upcoming event intact.
Damn. I knew it was too good to be true.
Well, it went without saying that we were going to have to foot the bill for the ill-gotten goods for an event that wasn't ours. No problem there, we took the now twice-used shopping list and made our replacement pledge good. Then, when asked just whose idea it was to dig into the fridge in the first place.... OK, in my own defense, it sure felt like a good idea at the time.
Guilty as charged.
That brings us to today, and the announcement that, since the Aces Casino team has now enjoyed TWO employee appreciation parties instead of one, the month of August has now been declared "Daily Blog Month" by the powers that be over here at the top Orange county casino party company-turned daily newspaper. Normally, here in blog-heaven, August has traditionally been a slow month for posting blog-stuff. Now, thanks to my poor decision-making skills in our fridge, we're embarking on a history-making blog effort...
31 blog entries in 31 days.
The GOOD news is, this post counts as a blog entry, so we're off an running. The BAD news is, August is one of the longest months of the year. Now, this parakeet-paper reporter has never been one to count the words in an Aces Casino Blog post, and we won't start now, but we've made a solemn pledge to at LEAST post something that has to do with our favorite topics - Gaming, casino night party event coordination, our 'top 3 favorite' whatevers, YouTube goofy videos, and funny postings from Twitter, Facebook and the like.
They might not be long, but hopefully, they'll be mildly entertaining.
So, let's start the bidding on the "31 posts in 31 days" craziness with this little gem we found on YouTube - One of our favorite reality TV shows is the A&E classic, "Shipping Wars," a show that has some of the most eclectic personalities on television, who have chosen cross-country shipping as their way of life here in the United States.
A&E can't make these shows fast enough for our taste, so we decided to tip our Aces Casino hat in praise for what we think is the most entertaining half-hour on cable / satellite dish.
Here's an excerpt from the show that features Marc Springer, A.K.A. "The Big Rig." When it comes to Marc, this particular episode entitled "One Geode Short Of A Full Load" was our favorite, as it shows that not everything in working with "aloof" clients goes as smooth as silk, as you'll soon see....
